Tribute to Des Keitel
Des Keitel made a significant contribution to Escare, and the Esperance community, and Escare acknowledges that without Des's commitment to the Furniture Programme, the strong association that Escare enjoys with marginalised groups would not have been possible.

Early Years News
The Early Years Network is an interagency group that helps to assist children and families and is currently updating the Esperance “Kids Stuff” booklet, which contains vital local information and services for children and their families within Esperance and the surrounding district.
We are keen to hear from anyone who would like to have their services added to the booklet, or if there have been any changes to contact details
Hard copies are currently available from Esperance Community Health, or at Escare situated at Lotteries House on Forrest St.
Funding to update the project came from a grant from the Department of Communities as part of the Early Years Strategy.
More Early Years News:
The Early Years Network were also successful in gaining funding for promoting breastfeeding in the Esperance community so mothers feel at ease breastfeeding in public spaces. The group plans to promote the benefits of breastfeeding for mother and child and hopes to assist workplaces to become "breastfeeding-friendly".
"Breastfeeding protects babies from illness and infection, provides the perfect food, aids development of eyesight and speech, and promotes a special loving bond between mother and baby. Artificially fed babies have increased risk of illness and allergies, costs approx $1500 for 1 year and is less environmentally friendly."
The Early Years group meets regularly at Lotteries House. Everyone is welcome. Any organisations wishing to get further information can contact Janette Fletcher at Esperance Community Health on 9071 0400, or Jo Aberle at Escare on 9071 3110
