Escare's Celebrates 21 Years!
Escare was established in 1982, and 2003 marks 21 years of community service to the Esperance Region.
Young Persons Project
ESCARE utilised a $5000.00 grant from the Esperance Shire towards establishing a "Young Persons Project" and includes workshops for young parents and young women.
Escare employed Sandi Wild to promote and facilitate the Young Parents Group and the Young Women's Project.
A five year strategic plan was put in place in to set guidelines for future projects.
New Acting Coordinator
In
December 2003, Lyn Kearsley (pictured right) took on the job of family support
coordinator whilst Jo Aberle takes maternity leave.
2004 Escare Archives
Before School Care Commenced
This new childcare program runs on school days and allows parents to to drop their child off at the George Street Centre from 6.30 AM onwards. Learn more about Before School Care.
Aboriginal Family Support Worker
In June, Verna Newchurch started as Escare's first Aboriginal Family Support Worker.
Young Parents Group
This Group has proved very popular with young mothers in the area so efforts were made to keep it going after the funding from the Shire ends on June 30th.

Hip Hop Project
This project kicked off with a 'Hip Hop and Rap' workshop facilitated by Damien Keitel (alias DJ Fallout) at Lotteries House on the 26th June.

The Rapworx Project
This Project was run as part of ''National Youth Week 2004". Rap workshops were run to pass on the skills needed to perform this lyrical genre of music.
The workshop culminated in the production of the wicked 'Rapworx' CD, featuring the talents of the young Esperance crew who took part.
