Kids Fun Day - Port Authority Park - Sunday 30th March
An estimated 3000 people attended the highly successful Fun Day Out kids festival recently.
The weather provided ideal conditions to enjoy the vast array of activities on offer, with the inflatable rides, workshops, craft activities and water slide all proving popular.
The performances by the Maori and Indigenous dance groups and Barking Gecko’s Skylab show were a perfect finish to the day.
Event coordinator, Michelle Crisp, was delighted with the result, commenting that “the committee’s aim was to have a day with fun and interesting events for the kids and I think we have achieved this. We have had a lot of positive feedback”
The community run event drew on the resources of many local groups and organisations.
More than 120 adults and children volunteered on the Fun Day and a morning tea was held last Sunday at the Esperance Bay Yacht Club to acknowledge their invaluable contribution.
Generous sponsorship made the event possible, and money raised from the entry fee will be put towards the next event of its kind, hopefully in 2010.
Event was sponsored by Escare Inc, Esperance Port Authority, Norilsk Nickel, Shire of Esperance, Portman Mining Ltd, Esperance Community Arts Inc
